A new Atlas has just been issued: "One planet, many people"  by UNEP.
Quite good: about geaography (human and physical), env.science and global change problems. The challenge of this century : manage ecosystem as efficiently and sustainably as to provide enough services to 7 billons people.

- A study led by many intl scientists on 1013 species (plants and animals) shows that 15-37% of them on earth will disappear by 2050 due to global warming

- Many species are already at risk

- If no action is rapidly taken (drastically reduce green-house effect gazes), we'll likely see the worst-case scenario occur

- It's a major concern for nature biodiversity but for humans too since many people in devlopg countries rely on Nature for food, shelter and other services.

Ce n'est malheureusement pas un scénario inventé de toute pièce, mais il se base sur les dernières théories climatologiques.
Certes le changement présenté dans le film est "trop" rapide mais BEL et BIEN POSSIBLE.

50 years that humans can use the nuclear and thermonuclear power.
Some geologic faults should store huge pressure at some points. Could the explosion of nuclear bomb placed near one of these points trigger a damaging earthquake ?

This question could seem rather stupid or terrifying, but in 50 years, you can developp bombs technology quite a lot.

Nous savons tous que la pollution atmosphérique, le réchauffement climatique et la destruction des habitats de la flore et de la faune sont des problèmes environnementaux. Mais nous sommes moins enclins à reconnaître que nous devons changer de comportement. C'est là un défi pour l'éducation à l'environnement.
